Dr. Lewis is originally from Corydon, Indiana where she grew up on a popcorn farm near the border of Kentucky. She traveled to the University of California, San Diego for her undergraduate studies to obtain a BS in Neurophysiology. She returned to her home state of Indiana in 1998 to attend veterinary school at Purdue University. After graduating from Purdue in 2002,

Wanting to further develop her surgical skills she also participated in a small animal surgical internship the following year at the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center in Dallas,Texas. Dr. Lewis completed a three year surgical residency at Mission MedVet in Kansas City in May of 2007. She joined the team at CVSG in the summer of 2007 and became co-owner of the practice in 2012.  Dr. Lewis enjoys the mountains and being close to the rest of her family. She currently performs orthopedic, neurological, and soft tissue procedures. Her surgical interests include oncologic procedures, minimally invasive techniques and skin reconstructive techniques. Her personal interests include hiking, snowboarding, Ultimate Frisbee and spending time with family.
